Job Summary: Join one of the most dynamic Event Management teams in the Big Ten Conference. From Camp Randall Stadium to the Kohl Center and numerous other venues, if you can name the event , we host it. We are seeking a driven and experienced professional to become the newest member of our well-established team. This position plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of large-scale, complex events, including Intercollegiate athletic contests, Big Ten and NCAA championships, High School state championships, University-wide activities and initiatives, community events, and stadium and arena concerts. In this role, you'll serve as the primary Event Manager for select events (soccer, swimming and diving, cross-country, football gameday support), providing leadership and logistical expertise, meeting regularly with athletic department staff, campus partners, clients, and external vendors to ensure seamless event execution. Provide guidance and oversight during pre-event planning, on-site management, and post-event wrap-ups. Oversee and manage a wide variety of facility rentals for internal and external groups. Ensure all events meet university, conference, and NCAA standards, while upholding safety and service excellence. Proven experience in event/game operations, preferably in a collegiate setting. Responsibilities: Directs daily operations of events, including monitoring the budget and/or supervising event planning staff to ensure that operations run efficiently, economically, and in line with department goals and policy. 40% Establishes and executes day-to-day operational functions and goals of events to align with existing strategy 5% May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees 15% Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures 10% Monitors the budget and approves expenditures 30% Establishes and sustains relationships with internal and external stakeholders Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
