Position Overview:

MN8 Energy is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Legal and Compliance department as Manager, Compliance. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Compliance and Security and be responsible for sustaining an effective compliance program that ensures the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations.

As the Compliance Manager, you will:

  • Implement ethics and compliance policies and procedures that ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Stay current with regulatory changes and industry trends that may impact the company’s compliance obligations
  • Monitor and audit company operations to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Work with Internal Audit, Legal and Compliance, Finance, Human Resources, IT, and Regulatory teams to facilitate compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure all employees are aware of and adhering to their compliance obligations
  • Implement and monitor electronic and physical access controls including firewall administration and change management procedures
  • Assist with FERC and NERC regulatory compliance and facilitate evidence of compliance
  • Develop security controls to facilitate compliance with applicable standards and laws
  • Create policies and procedures to sustain compliance requirements
  • Assist with the Continuous Monitoring and Evaluation Program
  • Develop compliance reports through integration of technology sources
  • Perform vulnerability assessments of operational technology environment

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field; or a J.D. from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a compliance or technology role with a proven track record of success
  • Experience in the energy industry, whether with a utility, IPP, renewable energy company, or similar
  • Experience performing vulnerability assessments, identifying risks, and designing security controls
  • Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations, including FERC and NERC standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify potential areas of risk and develop effective strategies to mitigate those risks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of integrity and accountability
  • Desire to work in a start-up culture, including comfort working with developing policies and processes
