Job Description

Technology Concepts Inc is seeking an Automation Systems Field Engineer in support of power monitoring systems at multiple data center facilities in the NY, NJ, CT area. 

• Our customers are global leaders in the financial services industry ranging from UBS, Goldman, JPMC, NYSE, Jane St, and Barclays, with a need for exceptional talent in a technology driven business.
• You will provide day-to-day systems troubleshooting, server maintenance, and field communication diagnostics for critical building systems including building automation and power monitoring systems. 
• You will work with operating engineers and facility managers to build and maintain electrical monitoring systems including power meters, network switches, HMIs, and communication gateways.
• You will report to various data centers and commercial properties to maintain and improve power monitoring systems.
• Travel to sites in NY/NJ/CT is required (40%-60%). Remaining time can be allocated to remote work.

Technical Qualifications

• Knowledge of industrial communications protocols such as Bacnet and Modbus
• Familiarity with power distribution equipment such as UPS, generator, switchgear and power quality meters
• Working knowledge and demonstrated experience with Windows platform
• Familiarity with Ethernet network switches

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Ability to analyze and resolve technical and application problems on power monitoring and SCADA platforms similar to Schneider Struxureware PME or Siemens WinPM
• Ability to understand power metering and PLC automation
• Build monitoring system graphics on SCADA software
• Build and patch Windows servers and workstations
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues
• Program power quality meters and field Modbus gateways

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or related study
• 2+ Years of Professional Experience is required

Interpersonal Skills

• Effective in time management and task prioritization
• Willingness to continue developing technical capabilities
• Willingness to travel and report to various project sites
