Global Account Director (Global Sporting Event) (Contract)

Description

Were seeking a seasoned Global Account Director to lead planning and delivery of premium client programmes at a renowned sporting event.

This role involves creating, managing, and executing large-scale event projects, mainly focusing on high-end hospitality programs. You will collaborate closely with global clients to realize their vision and ensure a world-class guest experience.

The position is ideally based in Los Angeles, with flexibility for candidates in New York, requiring regular travel to Los Angeles and extended onsite presence during the 2028 event. This is a contract role from July/August 2025 to September/October 2028.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage planning and operational delivery of client hospitality programmes
  • Create and oversee budgets
  • Manage key client relationships
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement for major events
  • Collaborate with departments on all programme elements (Hotel, Ticketing, F&B, Transport, Premiums, Print & Production, Onsite offices, Accreditation, Staffing)
  • Develop and manage guest experience pre-event and onsite
  • Develop and monitor project timelines
  • Advise clients on deadlines
  • Build relationships with venue managers and the Organising Committee
  • Manage internal and external teams, including Programme Managers and consultants
  • Continuously evaluate and improve activity management
  • Maximize supplier relationships for quality and commercial benefit
  • Apply industry best practices for event excellence

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

  • Experience in sports event management or experiential events
  • Proven stakeholder management skills in public/private sectors
  • Experience with sports governing bodies and organising committees
  • Sponsorship rights delivery and activation experience
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Resource planning and budget management skills
