Responsible for identifying necessary vehicle service and performing the repair, service, and/or maintenance work. This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Duties include examining customer vehicles, identifying necessary repairs and maintenance, estimating cost of repairs, performing vehicle repairs and maintenance, documenting services performed, performing services efficiently and according to dealership guidelines, following dealership and manufacturer service guidelines, requesting necessary parts, effectively utilizing available technologies to enhance customer experience, maintaining CSI at or above Company standards, maintaining an organized, clean and safe work area, participating in required training, recording all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system, following Safeguards rules and regulations, demonstrating the Company’s Core Values, complying with Company policies and procedures, observing all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications include thorough knowledge of automotive parts and systems, demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge, technical training or commensurate technical experience, valid driver’s license, designation as a Master Technician by respective manufacturer (ASE Master if only required by manufacturer), state inspection/emissions license required by State, completed manufacturer training including diagnostics, EV, diesel, specialty vehicles, and necessary manufacturer training to complete all warranty repairs on all model vehicles. Basic computer skills to utilize timekeeping system and ability to learn parts department computer inventory and ordering system are required. Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively with customers and company personnel is necessary. The position requires regular and predictable attendance including possible evening hours, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform various physical activities. Work environment includes service area with exposure to noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and interaction with customers and staff. The role requires verbal and writing ability to read and comprehend instructions and present information effectively. Math and reasoning abilities are also required.
