Moving Technician

SERVPRO of Birmingham is looking for dependable and hardworking Moving Technicians to assist with packing, loading, transporting, and unloading items for homes and businesses affected by fire, water, or mold damage. This position is important in the restoration process by carefully handling customer belongings and ensuring their safe relocation during cleanup and repair projects. We'd love to hear from you if you're hands-on, detail-oriented, and enjoy working on a team.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with packing and protecting household or commercial items for safe transport.
• Load and unload furniture, boxes, and equipment using proper lifting techniques and tools.
• Safely transport items to and from restoration sites, warehouses, and storage locations.
• Work alongside team members to follow SERVPRO procedures and safety standards.
• Provide friendly and respectful customer service while on job sites.
• Assist with setting up equipment and organizing trucks and supplies for each job.
• Take inventory of contents being moved and document any pre-existing damage.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Comfortable with physical labor and working in varied environments.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Flexible availability (some overtime, nights, weekends, or holidays may be required).
