Position Summary

Scoopers at Salt & Straw create happiness through moments of wonder by offering unparalleled guest experiences. They guide guests on taste adventures, sampling and scooping ice cream while narrating the journey to create OMG moments, unlike anything else in the world. Scoopers foster a welcoming environment, embodying kindness, unexpected discovery, and full-faced attention, which contributes to Salt & Straw's legendary hospitality and its status as a community favorite.

Essential Functions

• Interact attentively with guests throughout their visit, ensuring a memorable experience.
• Understand and communicate Salt & Straw’s brand, flavors, and stories behind ingredients.
• Scoop the perfect portion, maintaining shop standards.
• Process transactions accurately using the POS system, handle cash, and give correct change.
• Prepare, label, and store waffle batter; operate waffle iron; maintain the waffle station.
• Adhere to shop, food quality, and safety standards, including cleaning and organization.
• Replenish products and supplies regularly.
• Pack TPD orders according to standards, ensuring quality and proper labeling.
• Answer phones professionally, providing excellent service.
• Greet guests, manage the line, and promote shop services and products.
• Taste and sample ice cream flavors daily to better recommend to guests.

Qualifications

• Valid food handler’s card (required within 30 days or per local law).
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Experience in food service or hospitality preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Ability to learn and discuss flavors and give samples comfortably.
• Excellent communication and hospitality skills.
• Passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• Teamwork and positive attitude under pressure.
• Fluency in English.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and at least 3 shifts per week, including 2 closing shifts.
