Are you currently working in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) field? Vantage Technology Consulting Group is seeking candidates for a full-time Technology Systems Consultant position to join our Design and Engineering team. As a Technology Systems Consultant, you will be part of a team that brings our clients’ technology requirements and visions to life. We are looking for an applicant who has a strong skillset in BIM and is experienced with low-voltage technology system design, including one or all of the following:

• Information Technology (IT): Technology room, risers, wired and wireless infrastructure, and unified communication systems.
• Structured Cabling Solution : Design of horizontal and backbone cabling systems for voice, data, and network services in alignment with industry standards.
• Audio Visual (AV): Integrated systems for presentation, conferencing, digital signage, sound reinforcement, and classroom, meeting space, theater AV technology.
• Security Systems (SEC) : Physical security technologies such as video surveillance (CCTV), access control, intrusion detection, and security operations center integration.
• Healthcare Systems: Low-voltage systems specific to healthcare environments, including nurse call, real-time location systems (RTLS), telemetry, and clinical communication infrastructure.

What You Will Do As a Technology Systems Consultant at Vantage, you will be responsible for working on projects to create integrated technology designs for higher education, commercial, and healthcare projects. Under the direction of a project team leader, and working side-by-side with our project managers, architects, and client stakeholders as required, you will:

• Serve as a designer of information technology, audiovisual, and physical security systems from schematic design through construction administration, ensuring all deliverables align with Vantage and client goals, budgets, and schedules.
• Work as part of the Vantage team in translating user requirements into coordinated technology drawings and specifications.
• Own the development, management, and accuracy of project-specific Revit and AutoCAD models, applying Vantage BIM standards to produce clear, bid or construction‑ready drawing packages.
• Coordinate closely in BIM with internal and external design disciplines to integrate technology requirements with architectural, structural, and MEP designs, resolving clashes and documenting changes.
• Prepare basis‑of‑design narratives, riser diagrams, one‑line diagrams, cost estimates, and other deliverables that support the overall design package.
• Participate in virtual coordination meetings with construction teams, perform site walks to review low-voltage installations, and answer construction administration questions via the RFI and submittal responses.
• Contribute to internal initiatives that enhance Vantage’s BIM content, automation tools, and best practices for multidisciplinary technology design.

• Five or more years of hands‑on experience designing and documenting IT, AV, and security systems for new construction and renovation projects through standard AIA design phase processes (SD, DD, CD, CA).
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, including model setup, family creation, and coordination within BIM360/Autodesk Construction Cloud environments.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings/specifications, models, and construction documents.
• Familiar with major technology system manufacturer’s product lines and industry-preferred solutions.
• Demonstrated success working in remote, multi‑disciplinary teams, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality, client‑ready documents.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating technology design packages for higher education, commercial, and healthcare facilities.
• Detailed knowledge of construction industry practices, including typical deliverables for design development through construction documentation.
• Advanced skill with Dynamo, Revit Add-Ins, and other automation tools that streamline BIM production.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in drafting, design, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
• Industry certifications from BICSI, Avixa, or others.
• Candidates with a strong security background are encouraged to apply.
